Intro:
Agar aapka MacBook ka display cracked ho gaya hai, ya display assembly mein damage hai, toh is guide ke through aap naya display assembly lagana seekh sakte ho.
🧰 Tools You’ll Need
Phillips #00 screwdriver
T8 Torx screwdriver
Spudger or plastic opening tool
(Optional) Tweezers
⚠️ Safety Tips
MacBook ko shutdown karo aur charger unplug karo.
Work on a soft, clean, anti-static surface.
Be careful with connectors and ribbon cables — fragile parts hain.
📋 Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Remove Lower Case
Flip the MacBook so the bottom side is facing you.
Remove these 10 screws:
• Three 14.4 mm Phillips #00 screws
• Three 3.5 mm Phillips #00 screws
• Four 3.5 mm “shouldered” Phillips #00 screwsNote: The small screws go into curved edges, not straight down.
Then pry off the lower case using fingers near vent area and lift it away.
Step 2: Disconnect Battery
Use the edge of a spudger to gently lift the battery connector from its socket on the logic board.
Lift from both short sides (“walk” it out) instead of pulling from one side.
Step 3: Bend the Battery Cable
Gently bend the battery cable away from its socket so it doesn’t accidentally contact the socket while you work.
Step 4: Disconnect AirPort / Bluetooth Ribbon Cable
Use the flat end of a spudger to lift the AirPort / Bluetooth ribbon cable connector out of its socket on the logic board.
Step 5: Disconnect Camera Cable
Pull the camera cable out of its connector on the logic board.
Pull parallel to the board — don’t lift it upward, as that can damage the connector or socket.
Step 6: De-route Camera Cable
Peel the camera cable off the adhesive that holds it to the subwoofer and the AirPort/Bluetooth bracket.
Route the cable out from under the retaining finger molded into the bracket.
Step 7: Disconnect the First Antenna Connector
Use the tip of spudger to pry up the antenna connector closest to the logic board from the AirPort/Bluetooth board.
Also route the antenna cable from under its retaining slot in the bracket.
Step 8: Disconnect the Other Antenna Connectors
Similarly, lift the remaining three antenna connectors and de-route their cables from the slots in the bracket.
Step 9: Remove Board Mounting Screws
Remove these five screws securing the AirPort/Bluetooth + Subwoofer assembly:
• Two 10.3 mm Phillips screws
• Two 3.1 mm Phillips screws
• One 5 mm Phillips screw
Step 10: Pull Out AirPort/Bluetooth + Subwoofer Assembly
Lift the assembly upward near the optical drive area until it clears the parts around it.
Watch out for the antenna contact near the upper case corner — it’s fragile.
Step 11: Remove Some Display Bracket Screws
On the right side of the display, remove two out of three 6 mm T8 Torx screws.
Leave one screw in place for stability while doing other steps.
Step 12: Remove Opposite Display Bracket Screws
On the left side, again remove two of the three 6 mm T8 screws.
Leave one in place temporarily.
Step 13: Detach Display Data Cable
Grab the plastic pull tab on the display data cable lock and rotate it toward the DC-In side.
Pull the cable straight out of its socket — parallel to the board, don’t lift.
The socket is fragile, so be gentle.
Step 14: Remove Display Data Cable Retainer
Remove the two Phillips screws (8.6 mm + 5.5 mm) holding the display data cable retainer bracket.
Then lift out that retainer from the upper case.
Step 15: Remove Foam Tape
Remove the foam tape that covers display screws near the MagSafe / DC-In board area.
Step 16: Remove Last T8 Screws & Separate Display
Hold the display and upper case together.
Remove the final T8 screw from the lower display bracket.
Then remove the last T8 screw securing display to upper case.
Carefully rotate the upper case so that the display bracket clears the edge, then slightly open and lift display away, being careful not to catch cables or brackets.
🔁 Reassembly
To install the new display, just reverse all these steps:
Align the new display and upper case
Reinstall T8 screws
Reattach display data cable with its bracket
Reconnect antenna connectors, camera cable, AirPort/Bluetooth ribbon
Reinstall AirPort/Bluetooth + subwoofer assembly
Reconnect battery
Reinstall lower case and all screws
