Introduction
If your MacBook’s rubber feet (bottom pads) are worn out, missing, ya broken — you can replace them. New feet help stability and prevent scratches.
What You’ll Need
New replacement feet (adhesive type)
Tweezers
Adhesive remover (for cleaning old glue)
Alcohol prep pad or isopropyl alcohol
A bit of patience
Step 1 — Remove Lower Case Screws
Turn the MacBook upside down.
Remove 10 screws holding the lower case:
• 3 × 14.4 mm Phillips #00
• 3 × 3.5 mm Phillips #00
• 4 × 3.5 mm shouldered Phillips #00Jab aap in screws ko wapas daaloge, ensure unki direction case ke halka curve ke perpendicular ho — seedha bilkul down nahi.
Step 2 — Remove Lower Case
Use your fingers near the vent to pry the lower case away from the body.
Once the mounting clips release, lift off the lower case fully.
Step 3 — Remove Old Feet
Agar koi foot broken ya damaged hai, usko nikaalo.
Use tweezers to peel up and remove the old adhesive tape from the foot pad holes.
Also remove any leftover bits from broken foot pieces stuck in the holes.
Step 4 — Clean Adhesive Residue
Use adhesive remover on the foot pad area to clean off leftover glue.
Be gentle so you don’t damage the surrounding plastic.
Step 5 — Wipe with Alcohol
After adhesive remover, wipe the area with an alcohol prep pad (or isopropyl alcohol) to remove residue / solvent traces.
This helps new adhesive stick properly.
Step 6 — Peel Off New Foot’s Backing
Take a replacement foot and peel it off from its plastic backing (the protective film).
Don’t touch the exposed adhesive surface too much.
Step 7 — Align & Place New Foot
Align the new foot inside the foot pad hole.
You’ll see a little alignment nub (a small nub or peg) on the foot — fit it into the corresponding hole near the edge of the pad.
Gently lay the foot down while keeping alignment.
From inside the lower case, use tweezers if necessary to slide the alignment nub so it aligns properly with the hole.
Step 8 — Press to Set Adhesive
Press the new foot down firmly with finger.
Maintain pressure for about 30 seconds so that the pressure-sensitive adhesive sets well.
While pressing, support the opposite side of the lower case so the cover doesn’t bend or flex.
Repeat these steps for all feet (for each broken or missing pad).
Reassemble Device
Once all new feet are installed, reattach the lower case by reversing the removal steps (put casing back, screw in all 10 screws in correct positions).
