Introduction

Use this guide jab aapki battery purani ho gayi ho ya weak ho. Agar battery swollen hai, toh extra caution zaroori hai.

What You Need

  • Phillips #00 screwdriver

  • Tri-point (Y) screwdriver

  • Spudger (plastic pry tool)

  • Clean, anti-static surface

  • New battery compatible with your MacBook

Step 1 — Remove Lower Case Screws

  • MacBook ko upside down rakho.

  • Niche ke case ko hold karne wale 10 screws nikaalo:

    1. 3 screws — 14.4 mm Phillips #00

    2. 3 screws — 3.5 mm Phillips #00

    3. 4 screws — 3.5 mm shouldered Phillips #00

  • Jab wapas screws lagao, ensure woh case ke slight curve ke perpendicular hi hongi (seedhe na ho).

Step 2 — Remove Lower Case

  • Vent ke pass side se fingers se lower case ko pry karo.

  • Jab clips release ho jaayen, poora lower case lift karke hatao.

Step 3 — Disconnect Battery from Logic Board

  • Spudger ke edge se battery connector ko uske socket se upar pry karo.

  • Connector ke dono chhote sides se alternatingly “walk” karke nikaalo, taki kone damage na ho.

  • Corners bahut fragile hote hain — bahut gently kaam karo.

Step 4 — Bend Battery Cable Away

  • Battery cable ko thoda sa bend karo socket se door, taaki repair ke dauran accidentally reconnect na ho jaye.

Step 5 — Remove Battery Screws

  • Do screws ko remove karo jo battery ko upper case se secure karte hain:

    1. One 5.6 mm Tri-point (Y) screw

    2. One 13 mm Tri-point (Y) screw

Step 6 — Peel Warning Label

  • Upper case aur optical drive ke beech, ek battery warning label laga hota hai.

  • Us label ko carefully peel karo — lekin battery se label mat hatana.

Step 7 — Pull Out Battery

  • Battery ke saath attached plastic pull tab hota hai — use pakad ke gently battery ko upper case se nikaalo.

  • Agar aap nayi battery install kar rahe hain, usko calibrate karna zaroori hai:

    1. Battery ko 100% tak charge karo.

    2. Fir 2 ghante aur charge karte raho.

    3. Uske baad charger unplug karo aur normal use mein battery ko drain karo.

    4. Jab “low battery warning” aayega, apna kaam save karo, fir laptop ko battery low hone tak use hone do jab woh sleep mode me chale jaaye.

    5. Uske baad kam se kam 5 ghante ruk jao, phir laptop ko uninterrupted charge karo 100% tak.

  • Agar new battery install karne ke baad koi weird behavior ho, toh MacBook ka SMC reset karna pad sakta hai.

Reassembly

  • Sab steps ko ulta order me wapas karo:

    1. Nayi battery ko place karo

    2. Battery screws lagao

    3. Battery cable ko logic board se connect karo

    4. Lower case wapas lagao aur screws secure karo

    5. Power on karke battery behavior check karo

Tips & Precautions

  • Screws size aur location pe dhyan do, mix-up mat hone do.

  • Static discharge se bachne ke liye grounded surface ya anti-static mat use karo.

  • Kuch screws “shouldered” hote hain — unko thoda tilt karte hue fit karo.

  • Pull tab se strong pull mat karo — break ho sakta hai.

  • Once reassembled, battery health aur performance check karo — agar kuch off lage, double-check connections.
