💡 Introduction

Agar aapka right side speaker ya subwoofer kharaab ho gaya ho — ya sound distorted aa rahi ho — toh is guide se aap usko replace kar sakte ho.

🧰 What You’ll Need

  • Phillips #00 screwdriver

  • Spudger (thin plastic pry tool)

  • Replacement right speaker / subwoofer module

Step 1: Remove the Lower Case

  • Flip your MacBook upside down.

  • Remove 10 screws:
      • 3 × 14.4 mm Phillips #00
      • 3 × 3.5 mm Phillips #00
      • 4 × 3.5 mm shouldered Phillips #00

  • Jab small screws wapas lagao, thoda angle mein daalo — kyunki case mein slight curvature hai (straight daalne se threads damage ho sakte hain).

Step 2: Remove the Lower Case

  • Use your fingers to pry the lower case away from the body near the vent.

  • Phir lower case ko lift karo aur side mein rakh lo.

Step 3: Disconnect the Battery Connector

  • Spudger ki edge se battery connector ko logic board se gently upar pry karo.

  • Better hai ki dono sides se thoda-thoda pry karo (walk it out), taki connector corners break na ho jaaye.

Step 4: Bend Battery Cable Away

  • Thoda sa battery cable ko bend karo, taaki kaam karte waqt accidentally reconnect na ho jaye.

Step 5: Disconnect AirPort/Bluetooth Ribbon Cable

  • Use spudger ki flat end se AirPort / Bluetooth ribbon cable connector ko logic board se upar pry karo.

Step 6: Disconnect the Camera Cable

  • Carefully pull the camera cable straight out (parallel to logic board).

  • Upar ki direction mein kheenchna avoid karo — socket ya cable damage ho sakta hai.

Step 7: Move / Free the Cables

  • As you peel camera cable off the adhesive, move the AirPort/Bluetooth ribbon cable so it doesn’t block or get stuck.

  • De-route the camera cable from under the molded retaining finger in AirPort/Bluetooth bracket.

Step 8: Disconnect Antenna Connector

  • Spudger ki tip se antenna connector (jo logic board ke kareeb hai) ko AirPort/Bluetooth board se upar pry karo.

  • Antenna cable ko bracket ke molded finger ke neeche se de-route karo.

Step 9: Remove Optical Drive Screws

  • Use Phillips #00 driver to remove 5 screws that secure the optical drive:
      • 2 × 10.3 mm screws
      • 2 × 3.1 mm screws
      • 1 × 5 mm screw

Step 10: Lift AirPort / Bluetooth & Subwoofer

  • Pull the AirPort/Bluetooth assembly and subwoofer upward near center side of the optical drive until they clear each other.

  • Then shift them aside so they don’t block drive removal.

Step 11: Disconnect Right Speaker / Subwoofer Cable

  • Pull the right speaker / subwoofer cable from under its retaining finger near the optical drive side.

  • Then lift it upward to disconnect from the logic board.

Step 12: Disconnect Hard Drive Cable

  • Spudger flat end se hard drive cable connector ko logic board se gently pry up.

  • Bend the hard drive cable away from optical drive to free workspace.

Step 13: Disconnect Optical Drive Connector

  • Pry up optical drive connector from its socket on the logic board.

Step 14: Remove Optical Drive from Upper Case

  • Remove three 2.7 mm Phillips screws securing the optical drive to the upper case.

  • Then pull the optical drive upward from edge closest to display, remove it from the upper case.

Step 15: Pry Out the Right Speaker / Subwoofer

  • Use a plastic opening tool (or thin prying tool) to carefully pry up the right speaker from its adhesive to the upper case.

  • Start prying from the edge nearest the display — agar opposite side se start karo, antenna wires ya parts damage ho sakte hain.

  • Continue prying along the edges until the speaker loosens.

Step 16: Remove Right Speaker / Subwoofer

  • Pull the right speaker away from optical drive opening gently.

  • Peel the speaker cable along the edge of optical drive opening.

  • De-route the cable from the clips near the logic board edge.

  • Finally remove the speaker/subwoofer assembly from the upper case.

🔁 Reassembly

Sab kuch wapas lagane ke liye, steps ko reverse order mein karo:

  • Naya right speaker/subwoofer place karo, cable route sahi se karo

  • Reconnect speaker cable to logic board

  • Reattach antenna, camera, AirPort/Bluetooth cables

  • Reconnect battery

  • Lower case ko wapas lagao aur screws tight karo

💡 Tips & Notes

  • Cable routing pe khas dhyaan do — clips aur fingers se cables sahi se hona chahiye.

  • Adhesive thoda strong ho sakta hai, thoda heat (warm air) use karna help karega gently pry karne mein.

  • Speaker module jab position mein fit karein — thoda wiggle karke correct seating paana pad sakta hai.

  • Boot karne ke baad sound test karo, check karo ki dono sides speaker sahi kaam kar rahe hain.
