Introduction
Upgrade your RAM for a noticeable speed boost. Agar aapka MacBook slow ho raha hai, zyada RAM dalna help karega.
What You Need
Phillips #00 screwdriver
Replacement RAM modules (DDR3)
Step 1: Remove the Lower Case
Flip your MacBook over (bottom side up).
Remove 10 screws:
• 3 screws of 14.4 mm Phillips #00
• 3 screws of 3.5 mm Phillips #00
• 4 screws of 3.5 mm shouldered Phillips #00Jab aap small screws wapas lagao, unhe thoda angled daalo — kyunki case mein slight curvature hoti hai (straight down daalne se threads damage ho sakti hain).
Step 2: Remove the Lower Case
Use your fingers to pry the lower case away from the body near the vent area.
Lift off the lower case and set it aside.
Step 3: Disconnect the Battery Connector
Use the edge of a spudger (ya thin pry tool) to gently pry the battery connector upwards from its socket on the logic board.
Best hai agar aap dono short sides se “walk” it out — step by step — taki corners of connector safe rahein.
Dhyaan rahe: connector kaafi fragile hota hai, zyada force mat lago.
Step 4: Bend Battery Cable
Gently bend the battery cable away from the socket so it doesn’t accidentally touch or reconnect while you work.
Step 5: Remove RAM Modules
Pull the two RAM retaining arms outward (away from the center of the RAM chip).
Once arms move, the RAM chip will “pop” up slightly from its socket.
Gently pull that RAM stick out of its slot.
Repeat the same for the second RAM chip (agar do modules hain).
✅ Reassembly
Bas reverse order mein steps ko follow karo:
Insert new RAM modules into their slots (align properly)
Push retaining arms back in place
Re-bend or position battery cable
Reconnect battery connector
Replace the lower case and screw it back using correct screws
💡 Tips & Precautions
Dhyaan rahe ki RAM modules sahi orientation mein rahen — notch aligned ho.
Jab modules insert karte ho, dheere aur evenly press karo, ek side pe zyada force na lagao.
After reassembly, boot karne par “About This Mac → Memory” check karo taaki confirm ho jaaye RAM sahi se detect ho raha hai.
