Introduction

Is guide ka use karke aap apne MacBook ka logic board puri tarah replace kar sakte ho. Agar board faulty hai, ya damage ho gaya hai, ye step-by-step process help karega.

What You’ll Need

  • Phillips #00 screwdriver

  • T6 Torx screwdriver

  • Spudger (plastic pry tool)

  • ESD / anti-static working surface

Step 1 — Remove Lower Case Screws

  • MacBook ko ulta karo.

  • Neeche ke lower case ko jodne wale 10 screws nikaalo:
      • 3 screws — 14.4 mm Phillips #00
      • 3 screws — 3.5 mm Phillips #00
      • 4 screws — 3.5 mm shouldered Phillips #00

  • Reinstall karte waqt ensure karo ke small screws thodi curvature ke perpendicular ho — seedha down nahi jaayen.

Step 2 — Remove Lower Case

  • Vent (fan exhaust) side ke paas apni ungli ya spudger se lower case ko gently pry karo.

  • Clips release hone ke baad, poora lower case upar uthao aur hatao.

Step 3 — Disconnect Battery Connector

  • Spudger ki edge use karo aur battery connector ko logic board se upar pry karo.

  • Dono chhote sides se alternatingly “walk” karne se corners damage hone se bachte hain.

Step 4 — Bend Battery Cable Away

  • Thoda sa battery cable ko bend karo taaki woh socket se door rahe aur accidentally connect na ho jab aur components remove kar rahe ho.

Step 5 — Disconnect Fan Connector

  • Spudger ka flat end use karke fan connector ko logic board se gently pry karo.

  • Twist spudger under wires thoda if needed, but always pull connector straight up.

  • Plastic fan socket fragile hai — force use na karo.

Step 6 — Remove Fan Screws

  • Remove 3 screws securing the fan:
      • 1 screw — 7.2 mm T6 Torx
      • 2 screws — 5.3 mm T6 Torx

Step 7 — Remove the Fan

  • Fan ko uski recess se gently lift karo, ensure cable kisi part me pinched na ho.

Step 8 — Disconnect Right Speaker / Subwoofer Cable

  • Use spudger tip to slide the right speaker / subwoofer cable out from under the molded retaining finger in the upper case.

  • Phir cable ko upright pull karo and lift connector out of logic board socket.

Step 9 — Disconnect Camera Cable

  • Camera cable ka connector logic board se gently pull karo.

  • Agar cable tight lage, use spudger to “walk” it out from the metal tabs on either side.

Step 10 — Disconnect Multiple Cables

  • Using flat end of spudger, pry up these connectors from logic board:
      • AirPort / Bluetooth cable
      • Optical drive cable
      • Hard drive cable
      • Trackpad cable

Step 11 — Remove Keyboard Ribbon Cable

  • Fingernail ya spudger se keyboard ribbon cable’s ZIF socket retaining flap ko flip up.

  • Spudger tip se gently cable ko socket se pull out.

  • Agar cable insert karne me tough ho, temporarily stick a small tape to guide it.

Step 12 — Remove Backlight Tape (if present)

  • Agar keyboard backlight cable socket par ek chhota black tape hai, usko carefully peel off.

Step 13 — Remove Keyboard Backlight Cable

  • Flip up its ZIF retaining flap, then pull the backlight ribbon cable gently from the socket.

Step 14 — Disconnect Sleep Sensor / Battery Indicator Connector

  • Use flat end of spudger to pry sleep sensor / battery indicator connector up from its socket on logic board.

Step 15 — Disconnect Display Data Cable

  • Grab the plastic pull tab on display data cable lock and rotate it toward the DC-In side.

  • Pull the display data cable straight out (parallel to board surface). Don’t lift upward — socket is fragile.

Step 16 — Remove Logic Board Screws (Heat Sink area)

  • Remove nine T6 Torx screws holding the logic board to the heat sink area:
      • 5 screws — 3.6 mm
      • 2 screws — 4.3 mm
      • 2 screws — 7.2 mm

  • Some models may use slightly shorter screws: 5 × 3.0 mm, 2 × 3.6 mm, 2 × 6.7 mm.

Step 17 — Remove Display Data Cable Retainer

  • Remove two screws: one 8.6 mm Phillips, one 5.5 mm Phillips.

  • Then remove the display data cable retainer from upper case.

Step 18 — Peel Microphone from Adhesive

  • Use spudger tip to gently peel microphone off from adhesive securing it to upper case.

Step 19 — Lift Logic Board Carefully

  • Mind connectors on all edges; start lifting from side nearest optical drive.

  • Without bending the board, maneuver it out of the upper case.

  • Be careful with the flexible DC-In board connector so it doesn’t get caught on edges.

Step 20 — De-route Microphone Cable

  • Pull microphone cable out from the slot molded into the left speaker enclosure.

Step 21 — Remove Tape over Left Speaker Connector

  • Peel off the small black tape covering left speaker connector.

Step 22 — Disconnect Left Speaker Connector

  • Use flat end spudger to pry the left speaker connector up from logic board socket (pry from underneath wires).

Step 23 — Remove Left Speaker

  • Carefully pry left speaker off the foam adhesive securing it to upper case, and then remove it.

Step 24 — Remove Tape over Microphone Connector

  • Remove small black tape covering microphone connector.

Step 25 — Remove Microphone

  • Pull the microphone cable upward to lift connector from socket. Then remove microphone.

Step 26 — Disconnect DC-In Board

  • Pull the MagSafe DC-In board cable toward the heat sink to disconnect it from logic board.

  • Then remove the DC-In board entirely.

Step 27 — Remove Heat Sink Screws

  • Remove three 8.4 mm Phillips #1 screws that attach the heat sink to logic board.

  • Keep the springs under those screws safe.

  • Carefully lift the heat sink off the processor (if it’s stuck, gently pry using plastic spudger, being careful not to damage nearby components).

  • Clean old thermal paste and apply a new layer before reinstalling.

Step 28 — Remove RAM (if needed)

  • Pull the two RAM retaining arms away from the RAM modules.

  • The RAM sticks should pop up slightly— pull them out carefully.

  • After that, logic board is free.

Reassembly

  • Sab steps ko reverse order me follow karo:
      • Reinsert logic board into housing
      • Reconnect and secure DC-In board
      • Reinstall microphone, left speaker, connect their connectors
      • Re-route microphone cable
      • Secure display data cable retainer and screws
      • Reconnect display data cable
      • Reconnect all previously disconnected cables: sleep sensor, backlight, keyboard, trackpad, hard drive, optical drive, AirPort/Bluetooth, camera, speaker/subwoofer
      • Reinstall fan and connector
      • Reconnect battery
      • Install lower case and tighten bottom screws

  • Power on and test all functions (keyboard, trackpad, display, ports, sound) to ensure logic board works fine.
